Jesse Lingard can earn £9k a win by remaining a Manchester United player beyond the summer, our Old Trafford sources have informed C&H.
All the sounds emanating from the Red Devils’ hierarchy is that Jesse is ‘delighted’ with how things have worked out for him since his loan arrival in January.
But there are hidden costs involved which will face the Hammers when they start to negotiate personal terms in the summer.
There is an increasing belief his close bond with Moyes can still be the clincher, if United do decide to cash in on the 28-year-old midfielder.
However, the true cost of Irons making it a permanent stay at the London Stadium does suggest we may have to dig deep – certainly if another club comes forward to kick-start a bidding war.
United officials believe they can demand around £20m this summer, despite the player entering the final year of his £110,000-per-week agreement.
However, interested clubs may also have to factor the lucrative bonus structure that Jesse also enjoys up in Manchester.
We have learned Man United players earn around £9,000 a time for a Premier League win even if they are named in the match day squad. Even a point is said to be worth £4k.
And that can ramp up to £15k a time with a win in the Champions League
Lingard might not be a regular starter under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but the Warrington-born star can potentially earn up to an extra £24k in busy weeks when the fixture list is packed.
United do have the highest wage bill in England and can afford to shell out to keep their big squad sweet.
A United insider said: “Jesse is already on good money but there is another  financial reality for anyone trying to put a deal together for him. United have an excellent bonus structure in place that is the envy of most clubs.
“Jesse finds himself in a strong position with only a year left on his contract, but his primary goal is to be playing regular and that money isn’t his main driver at this stage in his career.”
