CandH introduces a new feature this evening with our Facebook Group member Danny Danielli Leach taking up his new role of tracking a particular Hammer every week in Player Watch. Welcome aboard Dan – thanks and a big well done mate!

After a spirited display in midweek in the Spurs derby, the captain Noble managed to fight off Obiang to start against Crystal Palace. Could he replicate the passionate performance in the derby?

18 – A misplaced pass leads to Palace attacking on the break and getting a half chance

23 – A bad first touch is taken advantage by Milivojevic who Noble then fouls

25 – Plays a very good cross field ball to Fonte but when Palace regain possession but in the same minute he trips up an opponent

48 – Very poor swipe at the ball up field leads to Palace attack who go on to win a penalty from which they score

62 – Assists Chicharito for a shot at a very tight angle

66 – Lunges in recklessly on Fosu-Mensah

68 – Plays a poor pass into Schlupp

81 – Slides in to clear ball for corner preventing a cross getting in the box

82 – Plays a good ball out wide for Antonio which he crosses in

85 – Attempts a slide tackle on Ruben Loftus-Cheek but is left sitting on the floor as Loftus-Cheek glides past him

90 – Plays another bad pass into the feet of the opposition

VERDICT: time and time again our captain runs around the midfield with the badge on his heart never giving anything less than 110%. However he did not produce the performance of a captain and did not keep up with the intensity or tempo of the match. He was arguably the weak link today and a return for Obiang in midfield would seem likely after today’s display
