Chelsea have turned down an offer from West Ham to take Ross Barkley on loan.

Chelsea have a limited squad and Barkley has started the last two games scoring in the 2-0 FA Cup win over Nottingham Forest on January 5th and starting the following game in the 3-0 win at home to Burnley .

A senior club insider told Claret and Hugh “Chelsea won’t him loan him out at the moment but things may change later in the transfer window”

David Moyes bought the 26 year old the youth ranks at Everton and is said to be keen on a reunion.

Barkley has been limited to seven Premier League appearances this season mostly through injury and West Ham hopes the prospect of more regular game time could persuade Barkley to push for a move that would aid his England chances.

Barkley was pictured being escorted to a cash machine by police in order to pay an irate taxi driver in his hometown of Liverpool in September,  the night before he was due to train with the team.

He was also filmed dancing topless in a Dubai nightclub in November during a club-approved holiday during an international break.
