West Ham have officially acknowledged injuries to Kurt Zouma and Ben Johnson on the club website this morning.

A statement confirmed that Kurt Zouma sustained a hamstring tendon injury during Saturday’s Premier League victory against Chelsea.

This is at the back of his knee and probably explains why he had a second scan as it was thought initially it may have been the knee itself.

The 27-year-old French international defender has already started his recovery programme at Rush Green under the supervision of the medical team.

Meanwhile, Ben Johnson has also started his rehabilitation after suffering a low-grade hamstring strain during the 3-2 win against our London rivals.

As we revealed exclusively earlier  Zouma could be out for 6-12 weeks recovering from a snapped ligament on his left knee while Ben Johnson absence is likely to be 3-4 weeks from a low-grade hamstring tear.

Both will be a big loss to David Moyes in one of the busiest and congested months of the season although Aaron Cresswell is expected to return.
