According to transfer expert Pedro Almeida from Portugal four clubs are interested in West Ham centre back Fabian Balbuena this summer – Internacional, Flamengo, a Saudi Arabian outfit and a team from the MLS in the US.

He claims the player prefers a return to Brazil adding that no team in Portugal have an interest in the player at this time.

Last month Balbuena’s agent confirmed that the defender could have left the Hammers in the January transfer window but opted against it.

The central defender has spent three years at the club thus far, having moved from Brazilian club Corinthians in 2018 for £6.5m.

Given his relative lack of minutes this season, with David Moyes instead choosing to use Craig Dawson alongside Angelo Ogbonna, there was interest in tempting him away from the London Stadium

His agent, Renato Bittar confirmed that there was a big offer from an unnamed  South Arabian club, though he chose against making the move.

Bittar says that Balbuena is waiting to see if there is an offer tabled by a European club, while he claims there was no interest from Italian club Lazio.
