David Sullivan has revealed exclusively to ClaretandHugh that Cheik Kouyate and Winston Reid have been playing with “serious injuries” and are heading for surgery now the Hammers are safe!
The co chairman – delighted with the performance and the outcome of last night’s game – was also full of praise for manager Slaven Bilic after watching him introduce a new defensive system which stopped the earlier goals avalanche.
Speaking to CandH this afternoon (Saturday) he said: ” Players like Reid and Kayoute have been playing with serious injuries that need operations.
“Now we are safe Kayoute will be operated on this week. We hope Reid can hang on for one more game until Angelo Ogbonna is back.”
Hats off to the manager for coming to terms with our defensive problems. That was always the problem and he’s made changes in defence which have made a huge difference.”
David was delighted to see the London Stadium rocking like never before against Spurs and added: “We said it will take time, but the LS is starting to feel like home.
WELL DONE TO THE WHOLE TEAM, as it was a team effort and to the supporters who surely lifted the team last night. It was the best atmosphere and win at the stadium, let’s hope there are many, many more next season.”
