James Collins believes the Irons squad are going to have to follow his example if they want to nail down first team places.

The central defender has shown outstanding form since returning to the team to ensure that manager Sam Allardyce can’t drop him.

And he said: “I took my chance when I came in and stayed in the team, and that’s what the other boys have got to do.

“We’ve got a great squad full of quality, so we will be looking for the three points.”

Speaking to www.whufc.com about the weekend match against Newcastle: “They’ve had some great results in the last few weeks.

There was a lot of talk about their managerial situation, that’s how poorly they were doing, but they’ve turned it around and they’ll be coming to us full of confidence.

“It should be a cracking match.”
