Of the game the veteran defender said: “I think a lot of it is down to what teams are doing against us as well. Obviously with the players we have got up front, if I was playing against them I would take extra time on defending so maybe other teams are doing that.
“Maybe we are not moving the ball quickly enough into the right areas. We have got a break coming up with the internationals, so I am sure the gaffer will have us working on a few things.”
And he believes that Payet is now attracting the closest possible scrutiny adding: “He’s a marked man but he’s a world-class player, so I am sure we will see what he is all about in the next couple of months.”
