Collison, who made 104 league appearances for West Ham – scoring 11 goals – has been plagued by injuries in recent seasons. But he believes he still has a future in the game as a player AND a manager.
As well as his new U21 responsibilties, Collison will also take charge of Peterborough’s first team for Tuesday’s pre-season friendly against Bishop’s Stortford – but he insists his priority is getting Posh promoted to the Championship as a player rather than fulfilling his long-term ambition to pursue a career in football management.
