Jack Collison is on the verge of rejoining West Ham as a youth coach it has been revealed.

ITK EXWHUEmployee broke the news earlier today saying “Jack Collison is set to return as under 16s manager!!”

Just after 5pm this afternoon Jack confirmed the news on his own Twitter account by saying: “Few last bits to sort out But I’m coming Home… can’t wait to get going…”

Collison made 121 appearances for West Ham, but a dislocated kneecap suffered in 2009 triggered a series of injuries and he has been forced to call time on his playing career in early 2016 due to the ongoing knee issues he suffers. After loan spells with Bournemouth and Wigan, Collison joined Ipswich Town but failed to make an appearance before moving on to Peterborough where he made 12 appearances.

He penned an emotional letter to fans after his retirement at the age of 27.
