A report by the Sun newspaper claims that West Ham could pay £30m for Valencia’s striker Rodrigo Moreno. If true and that’s a big IF that could provide enough funds for Valencia to conclude a deal with Celta Vigo for Maxi Gomez.

The 28-year-old who was born in Brazil but moved to Spain at a young age scored 15 goals in 51 appearances last season and helped Valencia win the Spanish Cup. The Spanish striker played for Real Madrid’s C and B teams before moving to Benfica for £5.3m in 2010 and then Valencia for £27m four years ago. He has scored just 105 goals in 347 career appearances.

He played a short spell in England on loan with Bolton Wanderers in the 2010/2011 season. He scored just once in 17 outings for the Trotters with reports that he struggled to adapt to the intense nature of the English game.

His current contract with Valencia runs until June 2022, Everton is also said to be made an enquiry over Rodrigo’s availability.
