The Sun said earlier today that the FA would study video evidence of an apparent punch on a Manchester City player which could hit Aaron Cresswell with violent conduct charge

The West Ham left-back, who gave the ball away in the build-up top Kevin De Bruyne’s opener appeared to swing a punch into Sterling’s midriff, who himself kicked out in retaliation they claim.

A few hours ago the Sun ran they first story they conveniently ran a counter story saying the FA have decided not to charge Cresswell.

The tabloid said FA chiefs watched back footage of the incident to decide whether or not Cresswell should be charged with violent conduct. But said the video replays were deemed ‘inconclusive’ so Cresswell remains available for Slaven Bilic on Saturday.

A club insider was amused by the Sun’s claims saying: “We haven’t heard anything from the F.A”
