Micah Richards has become the latest member of the Aaron Creesswell fan club.

Nobody could argue that the 30 year old Hammer hasn’t come right back to his best form this season after a rough spell which had some of us wondering how long his Hammers future would last.

But he has flourished – like so many – under David Moyes who even put him forward as a possible England contender.

Cress has become a very modern defender, attacking well and providing some brilliant crosses as the Hammers have headed into the heights.

Now the former Manchester City defender has made it clear that he too believes the left back should – at the very least – find himself in Three Lions consideration.

He said: “Not a lot of people have mentioned Cresswell. We talk about people who can fill in when there’s three at the back and wing-backs.

“(Cresswell) has played three at the back comfortably and gone into the wing-back role as well.

“I still believe Luke (Shaw) and (Ben) Chilwell are ahead of him, but his name doesn’t get mentioned enough. He’s been exceptional this season.

“If you talk about versatility, Cresswell has to be considered as well.”

It’s a credit to the Hammers veteran that he is getting so many shouts on the international front and Moyes once again takes much credit for how he has developed and adjusted him into the changes of defensive formation on occasions.
