Manuel Pellegrini looks certain to keep the same team together when the Irons go hunting a repeat of their victory at Huddersfield this weekend.

And after his return performance impressing the boss, that means Aaron Cresswell is highly likely to keep his place in the team ahead of Arthur Masuaku.

The DR Congo international was carrying a small injury before last weekend’s game and although recovered he looks booked for a seat on the bench.

There had been speculation over Cresswell’s long term future after Masuaku had regularly kept him out of the team but there is no doubt that his future is now at the Hammers.

A senior source – close to the manager – told ClaretandHugh during an interview that Cresswell is set to remain “very much a part of things.”

He explained: “Aaron was injured in training ahead of the Carabao Cup defeat to Spurs or he would have been in the starting line-up.

He took his chance against Burnley and that was really good to see – there can be no question of him leaving the club. He’s very much a part of the West Ham set-up.”
