Czech Hammers win big awards

Czech Ambassador to the Court of St.James’s ,Libor Sečka, has announced two big awards for two Hammers players

Calling them the King amd  Queen of the Czech football, he revealed that Hammer Tomas Soucek has won The Czech Football Association Men’s Player of the Year award for 2020 and Kateřina Svitková who plays for West Ham women has won the Czech Women’s Player of the Year title.

Svitkova joined West Ham in 2020 from Slavia Prague where she made 188 appearances scoring 177 goals.

Svitková was named 2015, 2018, 2019 and 2020 Czech Footballer of the Year (women)

In August 2020, Tomas Soucek was awarded the Czech Golden Ball.

The West Ham midfielder was also named 2019 Czech Footballer of the Year so this is the second year running he has picked up the national award.

Soucek also joined from Slavia Prague initially on loan with a deal later made permanent for a combined fee of £20m signing a contract until June 2024.
