The fact that Marco Silva is a fan of Richarlison is no secret. His top priority after his controversial move from Watford to Everton was to be reunited with his young star Brazilian playmaker.

Richarlison has been a quality performer for Silva and tormented West Ham in his Watford days.

Richarlison took no part in the reverse Goodison fixture in September as he was serving out a ban. , He cut a frustrated figure as West Ham took advantage to carve out a 3-1 victory.

Richarlison has scored 12 goals for Everton and has an impressive pass completion accuracy rate of over 96%, very high for an offensive playmaker. Surprisingly though he has only 1 direct goal assist.

Nevertheless, Toffee fans consider him to be at the heart of everything good. Yet Richarlison’s strength provides the key to Everton’s weakness. Everton ’s followers this season have complained about Silva’s over-reliance on Richarlison.

Silva is such a fan of Richarlison he has built his team around his talents. Without Richarlison Everton struggle, as they did against the \Hammers in September. In addition, Everton fans fear that if an opposition stops Richarlison they have no Plan B.

Stopping Richarlison is as important as creating our own threat.
