Daniel Levy would block West Ham bid

Spurs right back Kieran Trippier has been linked as a West Ham target in recent weeks as the Hammers prepare a list of right backs with Premier League experience to replace Álvaro Arbeloa who is set to leave the club this January.

However the Daily Mail say that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy will block any attempt of Trippier leaving White Hart Lane in this window despite interest from West Ham.

The 26-year-old has had to take a backseat for most of the season with Kyle Walker holding down the right-back berth but his ability as backup right back was evident in the recent 4-1 win over Watford when he set up two goals for Harry Kane inside the first 33 minutes.

Trippier has admitted that keeping the likes of in-form Walker and Danny Rose out of Mauricio Pochettino’s first-team plans will be a tough task.

“If you see the performances that Danny and Kyle have been putting in this season, and last season, and in the Euros, obviously it’s difficult week in and week out against them because they’re both flying. I’ve had to wait and that’s because Walks has been doing really well. That’s why in training I keep myself match-fit and whenever you’re called upon you need to be ready.” said Trippier.
