West Ham Chairman David Gold took to twitter on Sunday in an attempt to calm some fears over the Olympic Stadium by answering some questions.

One Hammers fan Allen Cummings asked Gold “What happens to these unsightly areas when we move in?”  referring to the gaps on show at the Rugby World Cup.

“There is still 8 months of work to be done to complete the refit of the Stadium. Please be patient. dg” Gold replied

Another fan called Isaac asked how fans will get to the Stadium to which Gold replied.

There are 5 train stations within a 15 minute walk. It is the best connected stadium in the UK. dg

Gold then went on to boast

“The largest TV screens in the world and there are two of them” & “The 1966 World Cup heroes are coming with us, the famous statue will be sited on the approach to the new stadium  dg”

One West Ham objected that Gold had said the stadium was 15 minutes away from train stations, suggesting it took an hour to reach the stadium at the rugby world cup.

Gold replied: “It’s the stadium with the best transport system in the country, it even has access by boat and cable car dg”

Colin Price suggested the best Olympic Stadium seats are being reserved for ticket agencies for tourists but Gold rejected that saying “This is complete nonsense”

Finishing the the impromptu Q&A session Gold lost his patience with Greg Poynter when he asked ‘What happens if you drive (to the stadium)”

Gold barked back “For Pete’s sake I am the chairman of West Ham football club not the transport minister. dg”
