West Ham Joint Chairman David Gold was interviewed by TalkSport presenter Ian Abrahams this afternoon at Rush Green. The interview was broadcast on TalkSport at around 5 pm.

Gold told the Moose he expects to be at West Ham for the rest of his life but added  he was disappointed they had not achieved more.

He would have loved to have got to a cup final but was still hopeful . He explained the best thing he has done while in charge was to move the football club to the Olympic Stadium while saying no-one loved Upton Park more than him.

Questioned about taking West Ham to the next level the Chairman told radio listeners that those promises were not written in stone, they are our hopes and our dreams.

Gold added:“There are promises we made that were hopeful promises, you can’t guarantee that your players aren’t going to get injured and therefore you are not going to be in the top half of the table or you are not going to get in a cup final or you are not going to progress as hoped.

There are promises you know you can deliver and promises you hope you can deliver and we shouldn’t be lambasted because we failed in some of those promises. Those promises still exist, we promised to do our absolute best we can and I feel every day we are doing the best, we are not leaving stones unturned, we are doing everything we can to continually improve this football club”
