David Martin could get his chance

David Martin could yet get his chance on Saturday at Stamford Bridge.

The son of West Ham legend Alvin Martin was released by Millwall last season and snapped up by the Hammers on a free transfer over the Summer as a third choice keeper after the departure of Adrian.

Roberto’s confidence now seems completely shot and it would be a very brave decision by Manuel Pellegrini to continue to support and start his out of form Spanish keeper as pressure mounts on the 66-year-old manager.

Should Martin get the nod ahead Roberto on Saturday it would well signal Roberto’s last competitive game for the Hammers as it could be hard to reinstate him after the decision has been made.

The 33-year-old Roberto has been unfairly accused by some supporters as the as  the only culprit for West Ham’a current run of bad form of no wins in seven league games. They claim the Hammers haven’t been the same team since Fabianski’s hip injury.
