West Ham manager David Moyes could face a FA charge over post-match comments he made about VAR match official David Coote live on Sky Sports. The incensed manager demanded to know who was on VAR after a controversial goal was given against West Ham last night.  Spurs’ opener came after the ball rolled down Davinson Sanchez’s arm before hitting West Ham’s Tomas Soucek and crossing the line for an own goal.

Moyes demanded to know who was on duty in his Sky Sports post-match interview: “Who was on VAR tonight? Who was doing VAR tonight? Do we know who it was?” adding ‘He needs to be subbed!’

Upon being told it David Coote was on VAR, he replied: “He’s not very good, eh?

Moyes added: “I have only just seen it. I can’t believe they have ruled that as a goal.”

FA Rule E3 says A Participant shall at all times act in the best interests of the game and shall not act in any manner which is improper or brings the game into disrepute or use any one, or a combination of, violent conduct, serious foul play, threatening, abusive, indecent or insulting words or behaviour”

His questioning of Coote’s competence to do the VAR job may be considered improper or insulting which brings the game into disrepute.

If charged Moyes could face a multi-thousand pound fine and a touchline ban.
