David Moyes repeats transfer challenge message

West Ham manager David Moyes has repeated his message that he won’t sign players for the sake of it or just to make up the numbers adding they need to be good for the club and make a difference and feature in the first team.

Speaking to reporters at Rush Green this afternoon ahead the FA Cup clash with West Brom on Saturday the manager said  “[We are] Not going to do anything that isn’t good for the club, we could do with adding but people who will help, not just another number.”

“I want someone who can make a difference and feature in the team. If we’re not bringing that in then it needs to be young players for the long-term. A balance is not that easy.”

The manager has previously complained about the difficulty of bringing players of quality in January and says he does not want other teams cast offs that they want to get rid off.

Sullivan and Moyes are also thought to be facing a challenge in persuading players to join a relegation dog fight with the possibility of a 50% drop in wages should the Hammers find themselves in the Championship next season.
