David Moyes tries out Plan B

David Moyes appeared to be trying out his plan B as an insurance policy as he played Jarrod Bowen up front to replace Michail Antonio.

Good strikers are notoriously hard to find and every club wants one and no club wants to sell their star goal scorer.

Michail Antonio had a terrific game today to show why he is our number one goal scorer but we all know how fragile he can be.

The 31-year-old made twenty-seven appearances for West Ham last season and 26 of those were in the Premier League.

Some believe he is twenty-five games per season player as he manages his hamstrings in the latter half of his football career.

Bowen who started the game was pushed upfront on 72 minutes when Antonio was substituted in place of Ben Johnson with Bowen scoring just two minutes later his that striker role.

Moyes needs an alternative option up front and has been desperately searching the transfer market but he could look to Jarrod Bowen and even Andriy Yarmolenko to play up front if needed.  Yarmolenko recently played upfront for Ukraine in Euro 2020 scoring two goals so we know he can play that role too.
