David Moyes would snub Celtic approach

David Moyes has no intention of leaving West Ham this summer to manage his former club Celtic Claret and Hgh understands.

Moyes is a former Celtic player and won a league title with the Parkhead club in the 1981-82 season.

But the 57-year-old has no intention of leaving West Ham sees his current role as a long term project which he hopes to finish.

Last month Moyes explained: “I have no intentions of going anywhere. I’m really happy here. We are quietly ticking things along.

“I have already spoken to David Sullivan. Hopefully we can start to sustain a level of league position.”

The West Ham manager is set to get an automatic 12-month extension if the Hammers finish above 13th in the table telling reporters

“The truth is that I’ve got something if we finish I think it’s above 13th where automatically it kicks in anyway if I choose.”

Celtic manager Neil Lennon resigned in February with his side 18 points adrift of Rangers in the Scottish Premiership.

Assistant manager John Kennedy was placed in interim charge until the end of the season.

A number of reports in Scotland have linked Moyes with a move to Celtic this summer with his contract expiring with West Ham at the end of June.
