Declan Rice has been linked with a summer exit from the Hammers, just a day after the January window ended!

The Daily Telegraph reports that the England international could be on his way in the summer after the club’s lack of activity in the January window.

Manchester City, United, and Chelsea are all reported to be interested in a deal to sign the midfielder in the summer.

The report claims that all three clubs have been emboldened by the Hammers’ lack of activity in January, believing that a deal could be struck to secure his signature in the summer.

The Hammers value Rice at well over £100m but this report claims that the Irons may have to consider offers below that mark should a bid be tabled, after the Three Lions star snubbed offers to extend his contract at the London Stadium.

Jack Grealish, for example, signed a contract worth £380,000-per-week when he joined Manchester City from Aston Villa.

ClaretandHugh says: That this comes from the Telegraph is no surprise as they were the prime movers last year when suggesting the Hammers skipper would soon be on his way. They have clearly been chatting with sources close to the player and have even suggested a buy out clause was required in a new contract which was probably a reason for him refusing to sign. It’s not hard to see that he may want to see a squad built at the Hammers if there’s any chance of him remaining and ambition always leads to frustration. What we do know is that the Hammers certainly won’t be selling him for less than the £100 million and intend putting a history making contract. There’s still a lot in play on this one and the manager will have a big part to play in the captain’s whereabout this time next year!
