Tomas Soucek couldn’t be doing much more to help keep the Hammers stay up and there’s a reason for that – he’s desperate to join the club permanently.

It’s a very long time since a foreign winter loanee had as much impact as the midfielder and he has become a regular contender for man of the match awards since the season restarted.

And it’s been pretty obvious from both his performances and his words on regular occasions that he is desperate to become a full-time Hammer.

He’s now repeating his dream and no doubt that of most of the fans who have been drooling over his abilities since arriving from Slavia Prague.

His ability to defend midfield alongside Declan Rice has been excellent as is his ability to get forward seemingly unnoticed at speed to snap up chances in the opposition’s penalty area.

Soucek is just one of those must-have players! Quoted in the London Evening Standard he said: “I’m playing with guys that I’ve played with for four or five months but I’m really enjoying it and, hopefully, we’ll be safe and I will be able to enjoy more years here.”

The Irons have a chance to take a big step towards staying up on Friday when they host relegation rivals Watford. The Hornets beat Newcastle 2-1 to boost their own survival hopes on Saturday as captain Troy Deeney scored twice from the spot.
