Downes arrival may mean end of road for Hammer

No complaints Moysie…your record when dipping into the Championship is usually spot on… with the exception of Mr Hugill of course!

And from the detail we have so far from one or two sources the new midfielder Flynn Downes is a 23 year old of incredible promise – quick, agile and strong in the tackle.

That he is born and bred in Essex and a Hammer since childhood is a serious bonus – perhaps the new Mark Noble has arrived!

However, as stated previously this would almost certainly seem to be the end of Conor Coventry’s hopes of breaking into the first team squad.

And with Nayef Aguerd signed at central defence it seems the opportunities for the under 23s may well become more limited that ever.

I am sorry about that BUT NOT COMPLAINING! The manager and his coaching staff  see them all the time and I am sure if they were good enough they would get their chance.
