David Sullivan’s excellent move – The Rise of the Krays – is currently No 3 in the itunes list and downloadable tonight if you are wondering what to watch this dismal Sunday evening.

As of tomorrow it will be available from all supermarkets & DVD stockist on DVD & Blue Ray and if you love a good gangster movie don’t miss this one.

You can also win win a personally signed copy of the film from ClaretandHugh.

David and the two stars of the film have signed two copies of the DVD for our lucky winners.

But if you can’t wait go to itunes and download a now. You won’t be disappointed as we have seen it and it really is one great movie.

The DVD shows how the east end of London, with Upton Park sitting at its heart, lived under the shadow of two of the most infamous criminals in British history.

They blotted the name of east London for around four decades and are still part of the folklore of many who live in the area.

Having said all that – and having watched it last night – I gotta say it is one terrific film with a sensational performance from Simon Cotton as the sadistic and half (if not completely) mad Ronnie.

The two stars of the film will also be signing the two copies we have available for our winners.

The story is told without frills and is definitely not a glamorous gilt-edged Hollywood-type effort. It’s the Krays in the raw, with Ronnie depicted as a total psycho. Some of the torture scenes are as graphic I’ve ever seen on celluloid.

It follows their rise to the very top of their criminal career and their scandalous takeover of a West End  gambling den. It also depicts the corruption of a top politician and the cover-up enacted by the Government and Opposition of the day.

These guys were not the local folk heroes many like to believe in but a couple of quite ghastly individuals – the movie shows you why! It grabs you in the guts and won’t let go.

David Sullivan, who has funded the film, told ClaretandHugh: “Pre-orders are so high it’s already a winner, so we are already making the follow up, The Fall of the Krays.”

David said: “I’d like to thank ClaretandHugh for letting its thousands of followers know about my movie ‘THE RISE OF THE KRAYS’, which is the most authentic and violent portrayal of these East End Legends.

“I’m really pleased its been No 3 on itunes all week and it will be available from all supermarkets & DVD stocklists tomorrow-Monday August 31st.

The movie has been described by one national newspaper as the “Best British gangster movie ever made.”
