Jesse Lingard looks and sounds more like a Hammer with every game he plays for us.

And already his heart is with the fans who are still locked out of the London Stadium during our most amazing season since the boys of 86.

He was totally dynamic against Spurs with an all round brilliant performance and a goal to add to the two he scored at Villa.

All that remains is for the club to make him a permanent signing in the summer and although that may prove tricky if United play hardball, it simply has to happen.

West Ham is finally reaching the next level and it’s wonderful to be here to see what’s going on but sadly it’s all from an armchair.

However Jesse is already feeling the fans frustration and disappointment but is happy that all of us, season ticket holders or not, can enjoy what’s going on

Speaking to West Ham TV the 28 year old said: “The place would have been rocking today, I feel. We can still feel the support from home and we know how much it means to the fans, and being able to see football on TV is a blessing and hope they enjoyed it today.”

Next up is a return to Manchester for Lingard and a meeting with in-form leaders City next Saturday lunchtime. It may be a daunting task on paper, but the England international says the Hammers believe they can win at Etihad Stadium.

“All the lads are confident, the whole team’s confident and the management is confident and it’s about maintaining that concentration and work ethic and focus to go on and beat City,” he concluded. “As I say, we go into that game full of confidence.”
