Emenike fee needs to drop for deal

Emmanuel Emenike has little chance of landing a permanent West Ham deal given the €8m price attached to his loan option.

The agreement to join the Irons until the end of the season was a long and drawn out affair with his club Fenerbahce finally agreeing so long as the €8m figure was written into the deal.

However, the Hammers have no intention of doing a deal at that figure for the 28 year old Nigerian given it would match the sum they are prepared to pay for Manu Lanzini next month!

The Emenike deal was difficult because at the time Slaven Bilic was showing an interest, the player was on loan at Al Ain which strengthened the Turkish club’s hand.

And although the boss likes the player – who did well against Spurs – a fee of anything more than around £3 million will be too rich for the Irons.

ClaretandHugh was told exclusively this evening: “That would be the sort of figure we would be looking at for a fourth striker be it Emmy or anyone else.

“In a perfect world our fourth option wouldn’t be getting that number of games were Enner, Andy and Diafra to stay fit and the figures we are talking about are high. ”
