Everton continue to work on a deal to sign Valencia for the rest of the season with a view to a permanent £14.5million move. The Toffees have offered to pay Valencia’s £40,000 wages per week in full plus a £1.5m loan fee with an option to buy.

However they will have to do the deal without meeting Valencia, who has managed just 10 goals in two seasons with the Hammers, as the forward is with Ecuador preparing for tomorrow’s World Cup qualifier against Brazil in Quito.

The deal has been complicated as both Valencia and his agent are in South America.

Jason Burt from the Telegraph tweeted “Enner Valencia from West Ham to Everton on loan appears to be on..although getting paperwork done in time may be a problem”

However as been proved in previous years by Arsenal if both clubs submit the basic paperwork before the 11pm deadline the Premier League are usually generous in extending the deadline for the remaining paperwork to be completed.
