West Ham will start talks with David Moyes over a new contract once the club knows whether it will be playing European football next season.

Should the manager lead the club into the Champions or Europa League then he can expect a bumper deal from the Hammers board.

At the moment the two sides are focused on the last four games of the season which could easily see the Hammers in the Champions League – an enormous achievement which ClaretandHugh understands will be dramatically rewarded.

Any fears that the board and manager won’t come to an agreement and that the leading Manager of the Year candidate will be head hunted can be firmly dismissed.

Moyes is more than happy with his situation at the London Stadium but has no interest in discussing his new deal until the final four games have been played.

He has said on many occasions that he has a great relationship with the board where chief shareholder David Sullivan is giving him final say on all playing matters.

Such has been his enormous success that the Scot could land a three year deal rather than the traditional two to which the club has become accustomed.
