Former Hammer Seb Haller was on fire in tonight’s Champions League opening for new club Ajax at Sporting Lisbon.

He grabbed four goals in under an hour to become only the second player since former Ajax star Marco van Basten to achieve such an amazing feat  on a Champions League debut..

The Frenchman eased the team into a lead after two minutes with a simple effort, applying the finishing touch to a diverted shot  .

The Portuguese were stunned for a second time when when Antony broke through on the right after a beautiful long ball from Pasveer.

The Brazilian was far too quick for the defence and served up the chance for Haller to score his second and then made it three with Anthony was again the architect and the former Hammer having no problem putting his shot away.

Sporting managed a consolation with the Dutch were in total charge and goals number four and five from Haller ended an extraordinary evening.
