Ex-Hammers boss eyeing new job

Ex-Hammers boss Avram Grant is eyeing up the vacant Hull City job, according to a new report.

Hull Live has explained that the club’s new manager search is taking in a number of candidates, including the ex-Chelsea and Irons boss.

Grant is said to have declared an interest in taking over the role, after they sacked Shota Arveladze.

They were said to be interested in appointing another ex-West Ham boss in Slaven Bilic, but he has instead been appointed by Watford.

Grant is not under consideration for Hull, however, meaning that he remains out in the cold when it comes to management.

The 67-year-old managed the Irons in the 2010/11 season but has not been in a dugout since 2018, when he was appointed interim boss of Indian club NorthEast United.

Grant’s last full-time job in management came with Ghana, as he managed the country for three years between 2014 and 2017.

He is perhaps best known for guiding Chelsea to the Champions League final in 2008, where they lost to Manchester United on penalties.
