Ex hero takes a pop at Hammers

At a time when you would have hoped for Tony Cottee to put himself back onside with the club the former Hammers striker has decided instead to take a pop at the team.

Anybody can knock – easiest job in the world – but as one of our former striker heroes – one would have hoped for more than criticism from TC after such a brave performance at Liverpool.

We all know we missed chances but let’s not forget Liverpool did too notably when Aaron Cresswell made  magnificent clearance off the line.

Ahead of the game Cottee – who been a front man led PAI Capital’s bid to take over the club – had called for the squad to dig in given Declan Rice’s absence in a Tweet.

They certainly did that and created some great chances with a depleted squad but that wasn’t enough for TC who then tweeted: Tony Cottee@TonyCottee9We have been so wasteful…. Some of these chance needed to be taken COYI ⚒6:58 pm · 5 Mar 2022·

Not wrong of course but one might have hoped for more after the bravery the lads displayed.
