Italian Journalist Alfredo Pedulla claims Javier Hernandez is now very close to joining West Ham.

He claims that unless there are last minutes twists he will wear the shirt of West Ham.

He says: “The Mexican striker born in 1988 is, therefore, preparing to say goodbye to Bayer Leverkusen after two seasons in which he scored 27 goals in 50 games.”

Adding “the English club is on the verge of completing the transfer for Chicharito , in a deal worth about 15 million euro. The signature and the official announcement could come in the next few hours.” he claims.

Yesterday German newspaper Sport Bild confirmed West Ham are in the running for Javier Hernandez.

Earlier today the Sun reported “West Ham have stepped up their attempts to land Javier Hernandez. The Hammers have made the Bayer Leverkusen striker their No1 target to bolster their attack and will pay his £13million release clause.Chicharito’s representatives have spoken to the Hammers over the 29-year-old returning to the Premier League two years after leaving Manchester United. The Little Pea is set for a whopping £145,000-a-week deal to lead the attack for Slaven Bilic.”
