West Ham have received no offers for Andy Carroll to join Chelsea either permanently or on loan.

Despite intense speculation which started when The Sun first ran the story three or four weeks ago, ClaretandHugh can confirm that there has been no contact with Chelsea for either a loan or permanent option.

David Moyes explained following the FA Cup victory over Shrewsbury Town last night that he was entirely in the dark on the Carroll speculation.

And this morning CandH has been briefed that at this stage there has been no bid whatsoever from the champions despite amazing claims that he could be on his way to Stamford Bridge for £30 million.

However, the club is aware that there may be some minor interest and are not entirely ruling out a bid of some sort as the close of the window gets nears.

They stress though that there has been no contact whatsoever between the two clubs over the player until NOW!

The story is currently being generated by agents, as is always the case during the transfer window, and has caused annoyance inside the LS where once again it is considered a move designed merely to unsettle players.

At this stage the chance of the striker making a permanent move are zero  and any swap loan deal for Michy Batshuayi has been described as “a predictable story to run.”
