Exclusive: Irons confirm Rice to get his reward

Declan Rice will DEFINITELY be offered a “double your money ” wage at the end of the season.

ClaretandHugh reported this morning the teenager was likely to be looking at the offer of a new contract and that was later confirmed from inside the club.

The 18 year old has been seen as the youngster most likely to break through for several years and on publication of our story a senior insider was keen to point out a central point.

We had explained that ‘Dec’ was contracted to the club until 2019 but we were told that whilst that was true the club also had an option for another year.

But it was quickly stressed that regardless of that the boy was on for a new and improved contract anyway following his amazing progress this season.

We were told: “The story you published is essentially correct and  will be getting a new deal in the summer.”
