Claret & Hugh Exclusive

Within the last hour Claret & Hugh has been exclusively informed by it’s ‘top source’ the full extent of defender Thilo Kehrer’s injury which he sustained against Newcastle United.

The German defender was withdrawn from action at half time by manager David Moyes, with many (including myself) believing the substitution was tactical. However, it has since been revealed by a senior club source that Kehrer will be unavailable for between two & three weeks.

This will certainly rule him out of the next two Premier League games against Chelsea, and away to Tottenham Hotspur the following weekend.

The injury could not have come at a worse time for manager David Moyes, following the sale of Craig Dawson to Wolves, and the injury to Kurt Zouma. As mentioned earlier on today, this does present an opportunity to utility player Ben Johnson, who I thought performed admirably in the second half at St James Park on Saturday.
