First team coach Alan Irvine has revealed that Andy Carroll and Chicharito are unlikely starters for tomorrow evening’s FA Cup replay against Shrewsbury.
Irvine took today’s pre-match presser and said: “Andy Carroll is not fit yet. Chicharito came in this morning but was sent home unwell, and we don’t know if he will be okay for tomorrow. We will see in the morning where everyone is.
“We’ve got some bumps and bruises and today’s  was a light training session.”
Looking at tomorrow’s game he added: “We certainly were pleased to get out of the first game with a draw because we didn’t play well enough, that’s for sure.
“Clearly we want to win the game and progress in the FA Cup, but the priority is clear in that we have to stay in this division. We’re in a better position than we were but we are nowhere near to where we want to be.”
“We’ve been happy with every game as of late, with the exception of the Newcastle game. We want to play better and we want to make sure we get the points we need to stay in the division.”
