Lukasz Fabianski has gone into great depth about the deadly serious training regime which has been in place at Rush Green since the 0-5 humbling by Manchester City.

The Hammer of the Year – describing the training as “intense” – said: “That’s for sure, because the result against City wasn’t a great one for us. We know that we have to make some improvements on certain things and that’s what we’ve focused on.

“I wouldn’t call it a ‘wake-up’ call, but I think we have realised we have a lot of room to improve on the basic aspects of playing football, really.”

The keeper is ready for a new-look Brighton first-hand saying: “Obviously they have changed their manager and you can see they have a totally different approach to the way they want to play compared to what they have been doing before.

“That will be interesting, and we’ll see what they look like on Saturday on the pitch, but I think we need to be ready for a bit of a different side to what we’ve experienced in recent years.

“They had a really good start, playing away from home and beating a good team as well, so they will be in a good way and it will be tough for us, but we need to be ready for it.”
