Fabianski pleads for more home strength

Lukasz Fabianski returned but two more goals were conceded and the keeper is going to need time to get back to his very best.

He conceded an early penalty of course but made amends with a pretty routine spot kick and after that watched his listless team mates go through what has become their normal less than average 90 minutes.

It was far from the perfect return for the Hammer of the Year but for all that it was a reassuring sight after the horrors which has befallen us over the past too many weeks.

And afterwards he was the player chosen to give his thoughts on a match against a team which effectively were Leicester City reserves.

It’s Bournemouth next and it’s utterly impossible to see this manager – should he still be in a job tomorrow – surviving should we be beaten by Eddie Howe’s outfit who now sit one place and one point above us in 16th spot.

Speaking at https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2019/december/28-december/lukasz-fabianski-we-have-start-getting-results Fab said: “It’s very disappointing that we didn’t manage to get something out of the game. Looking back at the 90 minutes, it took us a bit to get into the game and get a bit of fluency.

“Leicester dominated the first part of the first half and we struggled a bit with keeping possession. Then we had a really good spell towards the end of the first half.

“In the second half it seemed quite equal for me, but they were more precise when it came to finishing the chances and they put another one past me.

“Playing at home, that’s where we should be getting the most points and the manager is obviously disappointed with the performances, especially here, because for some while we’ve not managed to get anything playing at home

“That’s where we should be stronger and where we should improve. Hopefully we can do it in the next home game.”

Referring to his early penalty stop, Fabianski put the save down to the preparation put in with the analysis team.

“For me, first and foremost I try to remember anything from the analysis we do before the game, because obviously normally the penalty taker is Vardy.

“I tried to remember the other possible penalty takers and one of them was Gray. I think he had the tendency to always go to this side and luckily for me he went there again and I managed to save it
