West Ham take on Romanian side FCSB on Thursday in the Europa Conference League.

The Hammers have qualified for the group stages and will also take on Silkeborg and Anderlecht in their pool.

But who exactly are FCSB, who are perhaps the minnows of the group?

Where are FCSB from?

They’re a Romanian club based in Bucharest.

How good are they?

Historically, they’re a huge club in Romania.

FCSB have won the Romanian league 26 times, which is a competition record. They have also won the European Cup, lifting it in 1986, and reached the final again in 1989, but were beaten by AC Milan.

Last season, they finished second in Liga 1, and are currently 13th in the table.

How has their form been?

Terrible.

They’ve only won one game this season from the seven they’ve played, drawing four and losing two. They are already 14 points behind the leaders, Rapid Bucharest, but have two games in hand.

Who are their best players?

Andrei Cordea is a right winger with an eye for goal, who already has four to his name this season, while Ianis Stoica is their go-to striker.

Their best player last season was Florin Tanase, who scored 20 goals last season, but he has been sold to Al Jazira in the UAE.
