Feghouli admits his uncertain future
The Algerian winger is desperate to put on another good display tomorrow against Leicester City but says he will hold talks with Slaven Bilic over his future at the end of the season.
He was close to leaving in January when – as reported here – Roma expressed a strong interest in wanting to sign him.
It was thought the Italians would agree a loan deal with a permanent £12 million clause attached move but Bilic blocked the move after Dimitri Payet went on strike and left.
Feghouli was handed an unexpected opportunity to impress and has now started the last ten games whilst admitting the fans have yet to see the best of him in action.
He said: “I’m happy to be playing. I couldn’t wait to get back on the pitch, after spending quite a while out of the team.
“It’s simply the fact that I wasn’t given a chance to play in the first half of the season. I did have an injury, but I wasn’t given a chance to play after I recovered from it. But I did get my chance on Boxing Day and I’ve stayed in the team ever since.
I had many offers in January and could have left the club. I had a chat with the manager and the club wasn’t keen to sell.
I ended up staying and I’m very happy about that. I hope I can keep helping the team until the end of the campaign and we’ll see what happens at the end of the season.
“I’m under contract at West Ham. I’m focused on the game on Saturday. I’ve always been like that. Each week I focus on what’s coming up. We’ll see at the end of the season with the club.”
The 27-year-old signed a three-year deal with the club last summer.
