West Ham and Lazio along with various intermediaries are still talking about a deal which would see Lazio’s Felipe Anderson become a Hammer.
Reports earlier this week suggested the Italian club had snubbed a £33m bid but last night another report claimed the initial bid was closer to £22m with £4.4m in add-ons.
Today reports from Italy are claiming the Hammers have upped their offer to £26.5m with £7m of add-ons.
Lazio has initially put a £44m price on the player’s head but talks between his agent Giuliano Bertolucci and the club saw his price lowered significantly as the player attempt to force a move away.
Some reports in Italy claim the deal is close to be doing done but a Hammers insider, whilst confirming talks were continuing, claimed it remained some way off.
He said: “Talks continue but we are not close as some reports suggest – there’s a way to go.”
Anderson made 32 appearances for Lazio across all competitions last season, scoring eight goals and creating 10 more.
