David Moyes is approaching a month of games which will define his future …one that he wants heart and soul to be at West Ham United.

And make no mistake, despite there being a break clause when the season ends for both sides to decide what they want next, PL survival will see the Scot handed a lucrative long term target.

We could well know whether that is actually going to happen by February 10 after games against Huddersfield, Bournemouth, Palace, Brighton and Watford.

Make no mistake 15 points is possible which would take our points tally to 37 – one point shy of the 38 which is usually seen as the safety target.

Even if we throw in the loss of say three points we’re very close with winnable games against the likes of Swansea, Southampton and Stoke to come. Add a few from the more difficult matches and all will be more than well.

Survival will see Moyes installed on decent terms after taking to life at our club like a duck to water with those close to him saying he loves the place.

One told ClaretandHugh: “It reminds him of his Everton days and he’s desperate to stay herel. He’s incredibly happy with the club.”

Sullivan and Gold have no reason whatsoever – should survival be assured – not to offer him a two or three year deal. Meanwhile Moyes is a canny operator who is being ultra careful in one of the most important transfer windows he’s ever faced gien his current Hammers ambition.

He knows he can’t buy mugs and has yet to come up with the final players names he wants through the door knowing he has to get it absolutely right.

It’s totally critical for his own future here but the wheeling and dealing starts very soon!
