Fond farewell on cards for wholehearted Hammer

Snoddy’s departure from the Irons is currently in the balance with Sam Allardyce apparently keen to take him to West Brom.

I have never hidden my admiration for the player who has given everything for this club since he brought back from an ill informed loan move to the Villa under Slaven Bilic.

That he should have returned to the club and battled his way  to scoring 11 goals in all competitions from 74 games  is a major achievement in my book.

He  suffered initially by comparison with Dimitri Payet whom he followed into the club presumably as a set piece expert.

Snoddy cost around £10 million but after a season at Villa came back and has shown nothing but total commitment and dedication to this club

Word is of course that his legs have gone and that David Moyes has only given him five minutes of action this term seems to confirm the manager’s possible view.

It’s interesting therefore – should it go ahead – that Sam Allardyce thinks otherwise and reckons the 33 year old may be able to help the Baggies surprise a few by beating the drop.

Should he leave the Hammers I shall be sad to see a real trier go and these are thanks in advance for his tremendous and whole hearted efforts on this club’s behalf.
