Forest keeper deal begs Hammers Areola question!

Nottingham Forest have agreed a deal with Manchester United to sign Dean Henderson on loan for the 2022/23 season.

Why do we mention that here?

Only because City Ground manager Steve Cooper has moved quickly whilst we are still negotiating to sign a buy a guy who has been with us for over a season – Alphonse Areola.

Claretandhugh was told this afternoon that a deal is close but many felt this is a deal which could and maybe should have been tied up once the season ended.

Henderson only played a handful of games for the United first team last season but was an excellent loan signing in the Sheffield United first season in the PL.

The Forest boss showed himself to be a dab hand with loan signings and this looks another but it does beg the question as to why the Areola deal is taking so long.

However, a Hammers source told us this afternoon that a deal was now close to sign the French stopper.
