Former Hammer poised for Watford
Former Hammer Carlos Sanchez is in discussions with Watford about a possible move to the club for the remainder of the season.
The Watford Observer say they understand that the Colombian, who has been without a club since June after leaving West Ham, is being considered as an option to bolster the Hornets’ midfield at least until the end of the season.
Nothing has been agreedand it is understood that the 35-year-old free agent would likely be invited to train with the club initially before any commitments were made.
Sources close to the player have told the Watford Observer the player is interested in making the move.
As well as playing for West Ham, Sanchez also has experience of playing in England with Aston Villa, where he played from 2014-2017.
Sanchez joined the Hammers on a free transfer in the summer of 2019 under Manuel Pellegrini signed a two-year deal. Having made just six appearances, in September 2018 he injured his knee in an EFL Cup game against Macclesfield Town requiring knee surgery.
He returned to the first team in May 2019, playing in the 3–0 home win against Southampton. In June 2020, West Ham confirmed his departure from the club at the end of the month.
