Former Hammer James Tomkins allegedly fell out with Crystal Palace fans away at Stoke at the weekend.

Unconfirmed Internet reports- and they are only reports –  suggest he told disgruntled Palace fans to ‘Foxtrot Oscar’ at full time after prolonged abuse of the team during the game.

Palace remain in deep trouble sitting second from bottom in the Premier League on the same points as Sunderland who remain bottom on 19 points.

They lost again to Stoke on Saturday after the heavy 4-0 defeat at home against Sunderland the match before that. Former Hammers manager Sam Allardyce is not working his relegation saving magic at the moment and Tomkins must be wondering why he joined Palace in the first place.

The Hammers sold Tomkins last summer for a initial transfer fee of £10m which could rise to £12.5m based on certain triggers. It is understood he  never wanted to leave at West Ham at the time.

You could clearly still see the strong relationship with Noble and Tomkins when they exchanged shirts with smiles after the Hammers 3-0 defeat of Palace at the London Stadium in January.

If the claims are true I would like to think Tomkins would have never dreamt of telling West Ham fans to ‘FO’.

You never know, maybe he has a relegation clause and could find himself a free agent if Palace go down this season.

I for one would welcome him back with open arms to West Ham.
